Brazillian company Via Mobilidade approves Triple E – EEESA’s fire protection systems for use on São Paulo metro lines 8 and 9. After a meeting between the three railway companies, organised by our client Alstom, in which the strategic plans and the solutions available in Triple E’s portfolio were thoroughly discussed, the partnership relationship between the three companies was consolidated.
ViaMobilidade, the Brazilian company belonging to Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias, has been awarded the 30-year operation and maintenance services for São Paulo Metro lines 8 and 9. This new contract joins all those it already provides services to in a public-private partnership model.
Alstom’s presence in Brazil is far from insignificant. With an extensive factory with more than 60 years of history, it has contributed to the development of the country’s main railway infrastructures, as well as developing trains for clients in Europe and Asia.
Triple E – EEESA had the honour of becoming Alstom’s supplier of fire protection systems after commencing operations in Brazil. For this reason, we took advantage of the trust placed in us by our partner when introducing us to their client, and we thoroughly prepared ourselves for a conference in which we wanted to transmit our entire philosophy in just a few hours.
The Via Mobilidade – Alstom – Triple E meeting for Brazil
After an introduction in which we presented ourselves to engineers who had not worked directly with us, we described the current solution implemented on the different lines, as well as the whole range of solutions in our portfolio. The meeting quickly turned into a collaborative debate in which the three business actors engaged in order to obtain the best solution for each situation.
Following a tour of the different work areas, and after showing the components purchased by Alstom for the configuration of the carriages, we showed our partners and clients other components of alternative solutions that we include in all the rolling stock we work with. Such is the case of linear fire detection systems, different extinguishing methods, optical detection or the different formats of control panels with their different SIL levels.
This meeting also included a demo, prepared by the after-sales, technical office and training teams, using a mock-up similar to that which Alstom installed on Via Mobilidade’s lines. The solution includes suction detection systems and management through our E8-EN control panel. Thus, by provoking smoke in a controlled area, they were able to see how our equipment works according to the parameters described in the technical specifications.
Meeting conclusions: teamwork, the key to success
At the end of the meeting we put a lot of emphasis on working collaboratively to achieve the best solution. We all agreed that we are a clear example of the win-win concept.
Likewise, Triple E’s characteristic way of working was evident. In other words, the client describes their needs to us and we adapt the best elements of our solutions to exceed their expectations.
On this occasion it was Alstom, but it is always a pleasure to be able to welcome the world’s most important representatives of the railway sector. CAF, Talgo, Stadler, TMB, Renfe… Everyone in this sector is very proud of what we are doing in an industry that is set to revolutionise transport once again. Always safely, of course!
