At Triple E we strongly relate to Talgo, a large Spanish-owned company that, thanks to its commitment to innovation and a culture of client satisfaction, has succeeded in being at the forefront of technology and adapting to the needs of each project. This daily work has positioned both Talgo and Triple E in a competitive environment with multinational corporations that are much more powerful in terms of financial and human resources.
The origins of Talgo
Goicoechea-Oriol Light Articulated Train (Tren Articulado Ligero Goicoechea Oriol in Spanish). TALGO. These words are pure history and many generations identify this acronym with a way of travelling using state-of-the-art technology: speed and comfort. Talgo was founded based on engineer Alejandro Goicoechea’s dream. He was a Spanish researcher who wanted to revolutionise the railway sector in order to be able to offer performance that had never been seen before. Thus, with an idea, an objective, a project and the funding provided by José Luis Oriol, Patentes Talgo succeeded in offering unprecedented speed and comfort. For example, by avoiding border crossings due to track gauge variations, or by passing 300 km/h with its high-speed trains.
Triple E and Talgo
We have been working with this large national manufacturer since 2010. Thus, more than 12 years have passed since we started designing systems that included linear heat detection (LHD) with AFFF fire extinguishing in the technical carriages of diesel hybrid trains for Talgo. And since then, we are proud to have accompanied Talgo around the world. First, to countries as remote as Russia and Kazakhstan. Later, to other continents, such as Africa, where we carried out a project in Egypt. And, finally, until we finish the trains we are currently working on, specifically in Germany and Denmark. We are also proud of providing protection for our crown jewel, our High-Speed trains, the brand’s global benchmark.
Talgo is more than just a satisfied client. Talgo is a partner with whom we can discuss and analyse the latest market trends in order to keep adjusting our solutions to remain at the forefront of technology. At Triple E we are proud to have provided protection for the company’s first units based on hydrogen propulsion and we thank Talgo for trusting us for so many years.
